Raison d’être

Our purpose is to support organizations in the socio-ecological transformation of digital technologies.

Convinced that environmental issues are also social and societal ones, the team is constantly working with an ecosystem that is helping to advance the state of the art, both by improving practices for assessing the impact of technological systems, and by working towards the emergence of human transformations connected to the living systems.

Benoit Petit

Expert in automating assessments of the environmental impact of digital technology and infrastructure.

After working behind the scenes on digital services including the use of artificial intelligence, first in the context of data centres, then for platforms deployed in the cloud, and thanks to his extensive operational experience in the field of digital infrastructures, he initiated the Scaphandre project, an open-source tool for measuring the energy consumption of computer servers. Benoit is also co-founder of the Boavizta collective, which brings together private and public organisations and academics to design methods, data and tools to better assess, understand and reduce the environmental impact of digital technologies.

Benjamin Dromard

Software developer with a growing interest in the political aspects of digital technology, taking a critical perspective on the subject.

Previously a historian specialising in the social and economic history of ancient Mesopotamia, Benjamin wrote a thesis on slavery and the various forms of forced labour in Babylonia in the first millennium BC. He gradually became interested in methodologies related to digital humanities, until he decided to change direction and now works at Hubblo, developing tools to assess the environmental impact of digital services with a view to reducing it: Boagent, BoaviztAPI.

David Ekchajzer

Doctoral student in management and engineering sciences at the LITEM laboratory at IMTBS.

Using a research-action approach, he is investigating the ability of environmental impact assessment tools to drive change in the digital sector. His research has led him to work in particular on how to account for the indirect effects of digital technology, particularly through the use of net effect methods. David is one of the authors of the article ‘Decision-making under Environmental Complexity: The Need for Moving from Avoided Impacts of ICT Solutions to Systems Thinking Approaches’, which won the Best Paper Award at ICT4S 2024. David is also an active member of the Boavizta collective, which brings together private and public organisations and academics to develop methods, data and tools to better assess, understand and reduce the environmental impacts of digital technologies.

Eric Fourboul

Expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) applied to digital products and services to assess their environmental impact with the aim of reducing it.

His 25 years of experience in the technology industry as an entrepreneur and product manager, as well as his many assignments assessing the environmental impact of digital technology, have given him a deep understanding of the complex stages involved in the design of digital products and services. He has contributed to a number of ADEME studies and critical reviews and is the main author of the article “Impacts importés des data centres: l’angle mort des analyses territoriales des impacts du numérique”, which enabled him to examine the main models for assessing the consumption of data centres. Working in private, public and academic contexts, he is particularly interested in the international state of open data. Eric is also co-founder of the Boavizta collective, which brings together private and public organisations and academics to develop methods, data and tools to better assess, understand and reduce the environmental impact of digital technologies.

Laurent Eskenazi

Facilitator and expert in lifecycle analysis of digital services and infrastructure.

In addition to his experience in the strategic management of digital marketing, the versatility he has acquired as a consultant and trainer in this sector has enabled him to work with a wide range of professionals. He now works with major private companies and public bodies such as ADEME, ARCOM, DiNum and local authorities. Laurent is also a co-founder of the Boavizta collective, which brings together private and public organisations and universities to develop methods, data and tools to better assess, understand and reduce the environmental impact of digital technologies.

Muleine Su Lim

Certified professional coach, facilitator and trainer.

After having lead cross-functional strategic projects and managing teams of more than 70 people in French Tech R&D, Muleine made its ecological transition in 2019. Thanks to her ability to navigate technological, environmental and organisational complexity, as well as her interest in developing individual and collective potential by integrating issues of diversity and inclusion, she supports leaders, teams and organisations in their search for meaning in the living world. Today she is a supervised coach, a member of the EMCC coaching association and an active member of the Climate Coach Alliance, which brings together coaches and facilitators working for a world that respects planetary limits and the living world.
